This year, for the entire month of October, I’m watching (at least) one scary movie a day, to celebrate Samhain/All Hallow’s Eve/<insert your favorite pagan holiday here>. I’ve thought about doing this in the past, but just never took the initiative. This year, however, I got excited to give it a go when I recently re-watched Evil Dead II (iTunes) and Army of Darkness (iTunes).

So, I’ve created a calendar that you can all view that lists what movies I’m watching what day, in case you feel like playing along. Tonight, I watched DEVIL, which I have tried to convince my wife to watch for months. She seemed into it, but got tired and had to go to bed (pregnancy does that to you), so I wound up finishing it by myself. It wasn’t terribly frightening, but it had some pretty good moments in it. If your favorite part of scary movies is that moment right before someone dies where you know they’re about to bite it and they don’t, then you’ll enjoy this movie. It even has a few good twists in it, though they’re not earth-shattering, by any means.

Anyway, here’s a link to the calendar. If you have suggestions for movies to add, please feel free. I will probably update the calendar as I get my hands on more movies to watch, as my collection is not as large as I’d like and some of the movies I wanted to watch aren’t on the calendar. With the help of some friends, though, I’m sure I can get them before the end of the month and will add them to the calendar. So check it out, let me know what you think, and check back daily as I update you on my progress!
