No on Prop 8, Lunch in the OC

Here’s a little video my cousin David produced to get the word out about the attempted ban of gay marriage in California. Pass it on to everyone you know in California. Remember, all citizens deserve the same rights, no matter their race, creed, or orientation. Except for, y’know, Canadians.

CodeWeavers gets hammered

Due to the incredibly high volume of requests that Codeweavers has received today (way to go, Digg), it is taking up to several days for new serial number requests to come in. As a result, those who want their free software today, CodeWeavers has started allowing you to download fully unlocked versions of their software. The advantage to this is that you don’t have to bother putting your e-mail address and password in to unlock the trial version that they were letting you download last night. So go get your free copy now, but don’t forget to put in your e-mail address and watch for your serial number. You don’t want to miss out on your free year of support, future updates, and ability to re-download the software in the future (all of which require an account).

Free CrossOver Pro download is now live

That’s right, I said PRO. As in, the full version of CrossOver Mac, which includes CrossOver Games. It also includes 12 months of support at Level 2, and the ability to renew support every year for $35 (or free if they ever have a promotion like this again). This is a $70 value, for $0 and you really can’t beat that. But remember, you have until 11:59 PM (23:59) Central Standard Time to sign up and use your free serial key to authenticate. The serial keys will no longer be good after that time, so go do it now.

Free CodeWeavers software on Oct 28th

The guys over at CodeWeavers said that if President George W. Bush would actually accomplish one of several goals in his last days as President that they would give away free software for one day. One of those goals was to get gas prices in the Twin Cities down to $2.79/gal. Sadly, this actually occurred as the economy imploded (blame Codeweavers, they’re willing to take the blame.

The good news is, tomorrow you can visit CodeWeavers’ website and get free software (probably the standard version of CrossOver Mac, but possibly CrossOver Games, as well). This is kind of a big deal for those of you with Intel Macs but don’t want to a) waste hard drive space on—, or b) have to pay for Windows. So be sure to check ‘em out tomorrow. For all the details on the reasoning for this and the other goals that President Bush can achieve to result in another free software day in the future, visit this site.

UPDATE!!! The registration page is now live!

Best Halloween costumes ever

I mean, seriously. The best part is that they didn’t plan to wear these together. They just both chose them separately and showed up at a Cub Scout function like that.

We have a peanut

Yesterday, we had a very important appointment with a doctor. She confirmed that we have a peanut.

There may be some of you with questions, and rather than go into all the details here, contact me via Facebook, e-mail, or the contact form above and I’ll be glad to catch you up.

Evening's End (2002)

The light fades to darkness as the sea caresses sand
And the moon leapfrogs the earth as stars walk hand in hand
The sun is hiding deeply in the shallow wading water
And all is safely hid from sight but not from Time’s own father
The hours drift gently on and moonlight turns to day
But ‘ere that hour of daybreak comes I’ll safely slip away
Into the great divide I run, the realm ‘twixt wake and dreaming
And there release my fears and hates and search throughout my screaming
For that one safe memory that will see me through the day
The dream of night so peaceful and the time that slips away
Now to your beds you must be gone for darkness here is fleeing
And when the moon is risen, I again you will be seeing
Sleep by day and wake by night and know you are my friend
For if you weren’t I’d never tell you of the evening’s end

Oh, dear ever-handsome Elf-gods…

…are we actually stupid enough to have voted on nothing at all?

The above comic made me laugh out loud. But it’s the one below this that is most important. It seems that FedEx/Kinkos is now charging you to open your files before printing them. Individually. Not even joking.

The first comic is 8-bit Theater. I’ve been following it for several years and it may be the only funniest Final Fantasy-based sprite comic I’ve ever seen. The other is called HijiNKS Ensue. I’ve only been following it since last spring. Yes, I’m aware that they capitalize their name weird. No, I’ve never bothered to figure out why.

Also, I’ve added a favicon to my site. I did not create it, but found it over at favicon.cc. If you actually know what it is, you get extra-special bonus points.
